Lock Malfunction

I've had a HD-300 for about 3 years and the lock recently malfunctioned, rendering the entire safe useless. I would not buy another Liberty handgun safe.

Disappointed

I researched many handgun safes that would hold at least 2 handguns. I decided on Liberty as they have a good reputation for gun vaults. Unfortunately this HD 300 falls way short. Size is decent but that is it. Door seems loose and flimsy it does open fast but slams down so if you don't catch it it will bang and I am sure break eventually. Shelf is too low so it gets in the way plus it is basically a piece of cardboard which really can't hold anything so I removed it. Foam padding is very cheap and thin so I installed my own. Push button key pad is okay but the buttons themselves don't light up just a single little red light that blinks as you push the buttons. I bought it to replace my smaller single gun safe which is much better but too small for 2 guns. As one of the more expensive handgun safes and with the reputation Liberty has it was very disappointing and I would not recommend it.

Impressed So Far

Just bought it but liking the fit and finish. Easy to configure and looks to do what I want it to do.
