Protect your guns, ammo and other valuables in your safe from the damaging effects of moisture with the EVA-DRY renewable dehumidifier. This 100% renewable, 100% wireless dehumidifier requires no power to operate. It's filled with Water Glass Technology crystals that have a much higher absorption rate than traditional, soluble humidity absorbing products. Best of all it is eco-friendly, non-toxic and child and pet safe.

Place the EVA-DRY renewable dehumidifier in your safe and let the silica gel crystals silently absorb the moisture in your safe. Once the EVA dehumidifier is full with the collected moisture, the crystals in the indicator window will turn green. Take the EVA-DRY mini dehumidifier out of the safe and fold down the plug on the back of the unit and plug it in any electrical outlet for 8-10 hrs. The silica gel dehumidifier will renew itself and dry out the moisture. When the crystals turn yellow you know it's good to use again.

Poor

Used it several times and it worked okay.
After re-charging, now the beads turned black.
I followed all directions.
Called and left a message on customer service, and no one called back.
Don't buy it!

Hi, we're sorry that you've had issues with your dehumidifier. I've forwarded your review to our customer service manager to make sure you're taken care of.

No change in color indicator

Purchased Model #9993 at Cabela's, but indicator remains yellow, even after charging. Never shows to be dry. It is warm to the touch after 10 hrs of charging. Concerned about it working properly in my Liberty safe.

Not a long term solution

I have 4 of these, all purchased within the past 6 months. All them, the color changing window burned, turned black and they no longer change color. It is impossible to tell when they need to be charged or taken off the outlet. I disassembled one and saw the plastic had actually melted... Not worth the money, currently looking into any other system.

No color change

Purchased a unit in Spring 2020. By the summer the color of the indicator crystals stayed green and never change back to yellow. The unit gets warm when recharging so I believe the recharging cycle is working. I contacted customer service in September, forwarded a picture of the unit, and they asked for my shipping address. Have not heard anything else from customer service and have not received a replacement unit. Attempted to contact customer service again in October and received no reply. Not very happy with the unit or the service (I realize COVID-19 has caused staffing and shipping problems, but this is rediculous).

This was a mistake on our end. After seeing your review I took it to our customer service manager who then looked into the email exchanges. He saw that a new unit was placed on order for you but for some reason was not shipped out. In any case the unit has been expedited to you.

Deceptive recharge indicator

I purchased a Liberty safe from my local dealer about eight years ago, and an Eva-Dry dehumidifier was provided with the safe. I recharged the unit as required when the desiccant in the window turned , and did this for many years. About three years ago, I dropped the unit after recharging it overnight, the access covered popped open, and the desiccant spilled out . Imagine my surprise when I discovered the only crystals that were blue were the ones shown in the window, all others were yellow. Either the desiccant was beyond its service life, or the unit does not operate as advertised.

As a replacement, I purchased a clear plastic one quart container of desiccant, drilled many, many small holes in the sides of the container and put it in the safe. The the safe is in a room that is humidity-controlled at about 45%. I have to recharge the desiccant about every three weeks (oven. aluminum pie pan, 220 degrees F).
